animals feel earthquakes
Do animals have a “6th sense” or are they otherwise able to feel/know things that humans cannot sense?

I ask this because it seems like animals have this intuition and knowledge that humans don’t really possess. One time, before an earthquake, I saw dozens of stray dogs standing on a patch of landscaped grass in the middle of the road, far away from buildings. Somehow the dogs knew that an earthquake was about to happen and they were aware that it was bad to be anywhere near buildings. It was a strange sight because there were all sorts of dogs… big dogs, small ones, ugly ones, pretty ones… they were all standing there, silently, as if they were hypnotized!

I don’t have any pets at the moment but growing up I had cats, and they also seemed to have this certain kind of intuition as well.

I agree, they absolutely do…..not only do they sense earthquakes before we do, research has shown that dogs can predict their owner’s seizures before they occur, so that preventive treatment can be administered. There is a program for service dogs being started for that purpose. My cats always knew when something was up, too.
