Ok so my dad came and told me that there will be an earthquake like the won that happened to san francisco a while ago that destroyed everything…. IN TWO DAYS (2) so i was wondering if this is true, both my friend and me r rly scared… i rly need help please. THanks
Some geologist specialists called vulcanologists have become much better in the last few years in predicting volcano eruptions, but NOBODY has yet gotten even a slightly decent handle on how to predict earthquakes. Unlike volcanic eruptions, major earthquakes are not necessarily preceded by minor earthquakes or tremors, and minor earthquakes and tremors are events unto themselves in many parts of the world, including California. Is California going to be hit by a major earthquake. Almost certainly … sometime. Tomorrow, day after tomorrow, next week, next year, next decade, next century? Nobody (especially your dad) has any idea and anybody who claims otherwise is either a very overconfident professional geologist or is looney tunes.
