What are the remote chances or possibilities of a cataclysm effect on our Earth?

A sudden change in the environment resulted from pollutions.
A massive earthquake.
A nuclear war.
The land will be poisoned enough to be unable to provide our needs for food supply and vegitation, etc.
The chances are very remote. If EVERYTHING ELSE on Earth were static (non-changing), then we might have a problem. However, plants actually thrive better with carbon dioxide levels much higher than we have today. You would be correct in saying plants are suffering mild suffocation in our current atmosphere. If the atmosphere contained more CO2 (commonly labeled as a greenhouse gas), plants would grow and multiply very quickly, using up that excess CO2.
That’s just one example. It would not be easy to stimulate some global cataclysm. Even if we TRIED to pollute the earth as much as possible, the numerous subsystems would quickly absorb those changes toward their own goals. So if you’re a tree hugger, the best thing you can do is emit a lot of carbon dioxide!
There is a limit to all of that, of course. If you’ll recall from 1st grade, the Earth’s atmosphere was once composed of large amounts of methane and ammonia. Both of those gases are toxic to humans and most life as we know it. Over time, the life forms converted that into the atmosphere we now know and enjoy. The oxygen-rich atmosphere is now HORRIBLY TOXIC to those life forms. In the future, we are destined to have a similar fate, unless we can produce the technology to prevent it.
