describe earthquake
Does a descriptive essay needs another purpose beside describe a situation, thing?

I have to write an essay and I decided to write a descriptive essay of a specif memory I have of a lady when an earthquake happened where I was at 9 years ago. I finished the essay and I realized all I’ve done is to describe the situation of seeing this lady that for some reason stood out of the crow. He expressions, her actions, etc… Do I need to have a different purpose and explain why she stood out of the crow to me, or does it need to have a moral or as long as I describe the situation, the essay is complete?

No. A descriptive essay can be just that. Sometimes you’re better off not beating your reader about the head and shoulders with what something “means.” Let them figure out what it means to them.
