physics: earthquake energy?
An earthquake can release energy to devastate a city. Where does this energy reside moments before the earthquake takes place?
I believe it is potential energy from the instability of the plates and fault lines near the earthquakes epicenter.
In other words, the plates, slip and fall, with such great force, they cause earthquakes.
