Can you explain what is engineering seizmology and earthquake engineering section?
What are the tasks of such sections?
Im guessing that it’s the things you need to consider when you’re designing a building that is expected to withstand an earthquake shock. if the location of the building is too close to a fault line, it would be given more support or some type of a design that can prevent the building from falling during an earthquake…
locally, we have that section in our building code… it is to give extra support to a building in case of seismic activity. buildings get designed for an earthquake that’s 1 in hundred yrs, or 1 in 30 yrs… but I think that varies with the local code…
